Waterberg Tourism
The Waterberg region of the Limpopo Province offers a mosaic of exceptional natural scenic landscapes, fascinating cultural heritage sites and an abundance of biodiversity including animal and plant species and many nature-based tourism opportunities. The Waterberg region consist of six municipal areas including: Bela Bela (Warmbaths), Modimolle (Nylstroom), Mookgophong (Naboomspruit), Mokopane (Potgietersrus), Lephalale (Ellisras) and Thabazimbi. The area still has the "Out of Africa" feel which many explorers raved about. One night under the stars with a camp fire cracking in the background can transport you to a time of big game hunters and stories of lion and elephant roaming free. This site attempts to introduce you to the activities and accommodation available in the area. Modimolle Tourism Accommodation and Conference Facilitation is a One-Stop-Shop information and booking centre is based in the heart of the Waterberg region. Modimolle is also the administrative headquarters of the Waterberg region and lies on the cross road to the great north route. This malaria free area is truly one of the best kept tourism destination secrets in South Africa.
